10 Lessons Learned from a Life Full of Changes

10 Lessons Learned from a Life Full of Changes

1.) Maybe the point IS that there is no point…

There will be situations when we just don’t have time to make points about ‘things’. There are only 168 hours in a week.  I am real pinche´[…that means stingy in Spanish] I am stingy with my time nowadays. I have learned how to bamboozle the bullshit in this world and move forward.  Don’t fill your hours with non-essential crap.

2.) Life moves too quickly to feel anything less than unstoppable

With the world spinning at approximately 25,000 miles per day and people being fascinated at 1,000 miles an hour, life moves too quickly to feel anything less than unstoppable. You want to feel like you’re in charge of your life… not like your life is in charge of you.  Yes, I know we cannot control everything. We cannot control the weather or other people’s attitudes. However, we can control our focus.  What you pay attention to will always improve. When we pay attention to our focus we can feel unstoppable.

3.) Don’t do things half-ass

This pretty much says it all. Do not do things half-ass or you will be known as the half-asserNobody likes working with a half-asser.

 4.) Be a bonafide game-changer

Have you ever met someone who just reeked of a make-it-happen attitude?!  You know that unquestionable LET’S DO THIS confidence! This is how I would describe a bonafide game-changer.  Their swag is contagious because they let go of all negativity and deal with life …like hey, “You know what life? …you and me outside in the back…let’s go!”  A person who gets shit done with optimism, energy, and leaves you wanting more…that is a bonafide game changer!

5.) Two (2) qualities that attract people to you: Humor & Intellect

I mentioned earlier on the ABOUT page of this blog that I have experienced a big mentality shift in the last 12 months.  I should consider writing a book about it, however, for now, I can share with you the two qualities that attract people to you: Humor and Intellect.  Forget about bringing sexy back…let’s bring humor and intellect back!

6.) Trust your gut. Stand your ground

You may agree with me…or you may not.  Let’s read… Have you ever met someone?  After listening to them talk for 10 minutes, you can tell they’re an ass?

Have you ever met someone?  After listening to them talk for 10 minutes, you can tell they’re freaking awesome.  You get it.  Trust your gut.  Stand your ground.

7.) You need insane FOCUS to get shit done

I believe this is one of my favorites on this Top 10 list. We are distracted every seven to twelve minutes.  Email notifications, cell phones, text messages, and social media nipping like little demons at our heels!  Sometimes we just have to kick them to the side of the curb or stomp on them like ca-ca roaches to get anything done.  My personal tip:  I have this little white analog clock from IKEA on my desk.  I do things in 15-minute chunks of time. Try it if you need insane focus to get shit done.

8.) You have to be persistent to get through ALL challenges

The difference between dreamers and doers is that doers don’t see obstacles; they see opportunities, and they go for it.  The best we can do for ourselves is to strive for both.  There’s an old saying, “Work smarter not harder.”  Screw that! …you have to work harder and work smarter. Ask any successful person who has achieved their position and they will tell you they worked their ass off to get where they are. You have to be persistent to get through ALL challenges.

9.) If you avoid challenges, you stay stuck

It is no surprise that challenges always sharpen successful people’s abilities. We grow the most when we get out of our little comfort zones. When was the last time you had to learn something new to get to the next level in your career, in your business, or even in your relationship?  If you want something you’ve never had…you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.  This was advice given to me in my early 30’s when I started my first business.  Always stretching, always failing, always getting up and crushing in order to get ‘unstuck’. Sometimes you have to grab your own ass and turn yourself around.

10.) The Play-It-Safers never leave their little boxes

We can all decide if we want more out of our lives. When the thought came into my head about The Play-It-Safers never leave their little boxes, I was thinking about how easy it is to become accustomed to lacking. I have experienced this and so I believe I am qualified to write about it. It is very easy to let months and years go by without doing anything different to improve your life. This happens when we decide to stay in the same circle of influence. We are all products of our environment. Sixteen years ago, I snapped.  My eyes saw something that changed my life forever. I met an amazing woman who was a stay at home mom earning $15,000 monthly from her home-based business. Stay with me…this is not about an MLM opportunity. This is about a woman who created a very healthy income because she left her little box. She left her comfort zone. She did something she had never done before. She became a mentor to me. My life has never been the same.  I learned that we can decide if we want more out of our lives: Be brave. Take action. Ignore the haters. Become an incredible kick-ass person of value~
